Impact of chronic idiopathic urticaria on patients' quality of life in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

<p class="abstract"><strong>Background:</strong> Urticaria is a common chronic dermatological disease that has negative impact on the psychological status and social interaction of patients’ quality life. The dermatology life index (DLQI) one dermatology-specific instruments to evaluate extent (QoL) impairment in patients with skin diseases provide an additional evaluation for overall effectiveness treatment.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Methods:</strong> This study was designed as descriptive cross-sectional which conducted Jeddah city. Questionnaires verified Arabic version DLQI were distributed collected by dermatologists.<strong></strong></p><p class="abstract"><strong>Results:</strong> A total 79 enrolled study. Male represented 48.1%, while female 51.9% sex ratio 1:1.1. mean score all 10.67±5.54. unfortunately 11-20 had very large effect their life.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Conclusions:</strong> Chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU) significant In Saudi Arabia, few studies only have been done CIU more are needed help patient improve management’s strategy life.</p>
